The kids' summer break is quickly coming to an end. As we approach this crazy unorthodox school year have you decided if your kids are going back to school in person? Will they be doing virtual learning? What time do classes in high school start and end? And what different clubs, activities, and athletics are available at the different schools? Well, stay tuned because I have the resources to get your questions answered.

My name is Misty Harris and I'm the owner of Lake Lanier Homes and Estates. As we approach this crazy school year I know that you probably have lots of questions and various concerns and lots of mixed emotions. So I'm here to try to relieve some of the stress and burden by giving you all the information and resources that you're going to need to make this a successful school year.

Lucky for us, we live in a county that has top-notch high schools. Currently, Forsyth County has seven high schools that are all considered state-of-the-art. Some of the things they have are the projectors inside the classrooms and the interactive whiteboards to help keep the kids engaged and they offer to the students, portable computer stations in the classrooms and in the media center.

Just like the elementary and middle schools, Forsyth County high schools offer programs so that they can meet the needs of all students. They have programs such as special education, early intervention, ESOL, and even gifted programs. I would recommend checking online, each school has its own specific website so jump onto their website and you can find a list of all of the activities, athletics, clubs, and different programs that each school has to offer. Keep in mind too, just because your district or zone for a specific school, if they don't have the program that you're looking for, make sure you inquire because you may be able to go to a different school within the county.

In addition to their various programs, activities, and clubs, several of the high schools offer career academies and workforce development programs. These work-based programs and apprentice learning is available for those students who were interested in making the connection between the classroom and the real world.
