Lake Lanier Islands Accommodations

Imagine it's a warm sunny day on a white sand beach, the smell of hamburgers on the grill and suntan lotion is floating through the air. The kids are laughing as they race down water slides. Music is playing, vibes are good. It must be summer, right? Not yet, but it's time to start planning.

Did you know that Lake Lanier is one of the most visited lakes in the Southeast, covering 38,000 acres with 692 miles of shoreline? It offers something for everyone. And one of its most popular places is Lake Lanier Islands in Buford, Georgia.

Lanier islands offer some of the best amenities and recreational activities in the entire state, including volleyball, camping, boating, meeting venues, horseback riding, spa, restaurants, golf, and more. With all these activities, today we're going to focus just on the accommodations at Lake Lanier Islands. Welcoming you into Lanier Islands, you will find the pet-friendly Legacy Lodge. This beautiful building has about 220 first-class rooms. They boast luxury bathrooms, spacious areas in the room, granite countertops, and gorgeous tile walk-in showers. They also come complete with free internet, flat-screen TVs. And when you're booking you have your choice of floor plans; a large spacious suite, a king room, a double queen, and most of these rooms overlook their beautiful saltwater swimming pool.

If you're looking for something just a little bit more private, you might want to consider one of the lakeside villas. They are just adjacent to the Legacy Lodge, but of course, they're still within walking distance of all the amenities. Each of these six rooms is individually keyed and they total about 4,500 square feet of space. And just like Legacy Lodge, all of the villas come with top-notch amenities and of course beautiful views of Lake Lanier. The villas come with two bedrooms and when you're booking, you can choose from two king rooms, two double queens, or you can get two king suites, which come with their own private bathroom, and a balcony or a terrace.

If you're visiting linear islands with a large group of family or friends of up to eight people, I would definitely recommend the pet-friendly Lake Houses. The Lake Houses are really adorable, and they sit along the shore of Lake Lanier. Each house comes with two bedrooms. One bedroom has a king-sized bed, the other has two full-sized beds, and both rooms have their own private bathrooms. The Lake Houses also come equipped with a kitchenette and a washer and dryer for your clothes, a gas fireplace, and a wooden deck with a grill. They also have two parking spaces for you and your guests.

If connecting with nature and sleeping the stars is more your speed, then the campgrounds at Margaritaville are definitely for you. Enjoy a lakeside campfire and s'mores at Lanier Islands RV resort or at the Shoal Creek Campgrounds. Shoal Creek Campgrounds is a beautiful little area just outside of Lanier Islands. They are pet friendly and offer wooded or lakefront campsites that come with or without hookups. They have showers, a dump station, restrooms, picnic tables, pavilions, a boat ramp, and an area for swimming. They also have a top-notch RV area that welcomes most motorized and towable RVs from class A, B, and C motor homes to fifth wheels and travel trailers.

The Legacy Lodge also offers 2,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, a full-service business center, a spa getaway, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and a gift shop. There are also plenty of dining options available including Sydney's, which is a really cool little waterfront restaurant that overlooks the lake, and because they get all of their ingredients locally, their menu is always changing and very seasonal. Make sure you check them out. Another enjoyable place to hang out is Bullfrogs Bar and Grill. They offer a full menu and bar service is available. The cool thing about Bullfrogs is you can sit at the table or patio and eat your meal or you can just order poolside.
